The "Kura Power Sheet" is a semi-preg sheet, an intermediate substrate just before carbon fiber is impregnated with resin. The "Kura Power Sheet" allows for direct molding, where lamination and heating/melting are performed simultaneously, eliminating the need for the pre-treatment of stacking multiple sheets and heating/pressurizing (consolidation) required for conventional thermoplastic prepregs, which is expected to reduce costs. Carbon fiber sheets are thinner and lighter compared to metals, allowing for significant weight reduction and strength enhancement when combined with inexpensive surface materials like expanded polystyrene.
